Individual acts wouldn't actually be very long compared to hour+ DoTA games, but you could play as many Acts as desired to continue the gameplay. The players of both sides then move on to the next Act (same characters and all, different map) and repeat the same idea only with new quests and a more epic scale. Perhaps the dark party must launch a siege on a town that the light must defend, or any other scenario which will conclude the Act. When a team completes a quest, rather than being an immediate reward that could throw off the balance of the game, they will be given a bonus for the final confrontation of the act.Īt the end of the Act there would be an larger battle directly between the two parties more akin to the original DoTA. During this entire time both sides would also be directly PvPing when encountering each other during a quest. The quests (there wouldn't be many per map) gradually build up in difficulty for each side as the players level up and require exploring into areas of the map with higher level creep. As such, they will both be given the appropriate quest at the same time, and when a quest is completed, they both move on to the next one.

Quests for each side would directly conflict with each other - one group cannot succeed without the other group failing. Players would oppose each other in a similar way to DoTA except it would be more quest/story driven like Diablo rather than simply exp-farming and destroying the opposing base. Meaning instead of one party of players playing through the story, there would be two - one light and one dark.
